We’re super proud of our operations assistant, Lily Rice, who’ll compete for Wales at the Commonwealth Games.
Lily will compete in the Para-Sport programme at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham at the end of July and will be swimming in the women’s 100m backstroke S8 classification. As well as working hard for us here at Folly Farm in our operations department, Lily is passionate about wheelchair moto cross and was the first person to land a wheelchair backflip in the UK at aged 13. She also finds the time to train six times a week with Pembrokeshire County swimming and somehow fits in school too! It’s not really that surprising then that her talent, dedication and commitment has been recognised with selection for the Commonwealth Games!
[Pullout] “I’m feeling great about being selected for the games, it’s a massive opportunity to show what I can do considering I’m fairly new to the sport. I’m working hard in training and hopefully that will pay off this Summer! I’ll be racing people with similar impairments/disabilities in the S8 classification.” – Lily Rice [/Pullout]
We’re super proud of Lily and would like to wish her all the best for the games. We’ll all be cheering her on!
