We’ve always liked looking after things. First it was the land. Then it was the cows. Then it was our family. Now it’s all the families who come and see us every day.
Please help us help you by following instructions and listening to the advice of our team. Here’s some at a glance advice but you can find more detail below.
We’ve been accredited by independent consultants KIWA as part of the National Farm Attractions Network (NFAN) Animal Assured Attraction Scheme.
This provides our visitors with the reassurance that not only are our animals healthy and safe but so are they because we comply with its code of practice. Only a third of the farm parks in the UK have the AAAS safety standard.
You’ll see lots of handwashing stations around our attraction, particularly where contact with animals may occur such as the Jolly Barn and some areas of our zoo. We also have plenty of toilets with handwashing facilities across our attraction.
You’ll see lots of signage with Farmer Glyn asking you to please wash your hands. This is particularly important if you have in contact with our animals and before you eat or drink.
It’s always best to wash your hands with hot water and soap and dry them using our energy-efficient hand driers. Where there isn’t easy access to a hand-washing station such as our rare breed paddocks, we provide hand sanitising stations as a temporary measure and then remind you to wash your hands at the handwashing station when you re-enter the Jolly Barn.
Losing sight of your child at an attraction can be scary so we’ve got procedures in place to help. Please pick up a free wristband at our entrance, write on your name and number and make sure your child wears it. This really helps reduce the time it takes to get your little one back to you.
It’s also a good idea to take a photo of your child on your phone on the day of your visit so you can show it to our staff should they go missing. If you do become separated from your child please speak to the nearest member of staff who will be able to help you. Make sure your children also know they can approach our staff to say they have lost you – they might be wearing blue, green or red uniform but it will have our logo on it and they’ll be wearing a name badge.
Because our fairground rides are permanently located at Folly Farm, as a working collection of vintage rides, you can rest assured they are well maintained. In fact, as well as independent ride inspections each year, our team of engineers inspect our rides daily before signing them off as safe.
