What happens on a penguin feeding experience?
You’ll be among our Humboldt and Macaroni penguins on the Penguin Coast beach, taking charge of the feed during our daily penguin talk.
You’ll be welcomed by one of our penguin keepers and after a short briefing, you’ll help prepare lunch for the penguins. It’s messy work, but don’t worry we provide gloves.
Whilst you’re behind the scenes in the penguin enclosure you can ask our knowledgeable penguin keepers all about the animals in their care.
Now comes the bit you’ve been waiting for. You’ll get to meet and feed our penguins. Our Macaroni and Humboldt penguins absolutely love feeding time!
Your penguin feeding experience will last at least 20 minutes. It includes a souvenir cuddly toy penguin to take home so you can remember this very special experience and makes a fantastic gift for children and adults alike.
Penguin experiences must be booked well in advance as there’s only one session available per day for a maximum of two people.
This experience takes place on Penguin Coast beach so it’s in view of the general public.
Our penguin experience is only suitable for those aged 8 or over.

We had a really great time. Catrin was super friendly and informative, and let us take control of the feeding so we got a really good experience. We got to see a penguin chick, and went all over the enclosure to feed all the little groups of penguins who wouldn’t leave their nests. At the end, we got a certificate and a lovely cuddly penguin toy.

Would recommend Folly Farm as per my review on Tripadvisor. This was the first time we have visited but we shall return. Folly Farm is not just for children and families it is also for us oldies. The areas were very clean, tidy and well looked after. When you get to our age and it comes to presents for birthdays and Christmas, we don’t need anything so we now do something for us.
