“If “Feeding the Penguins” at Folly Farm is not on your bucket list, then your list is incomplete. It wasn’t on mine! But I booked it as a birthday gift for my beautiful Julie. Had to wait for the day to arrive, but it finally did, and what a day! We were truly VIPs, alone with our keeper Martha and the mixed flock of Macaroni and Humbolts. Our keeper Martha was the dream host! Look out Sir David!”

The penguin keeper was wonderfully friendly and enabled my autistic son and me to have a wonderful time with the penguins. She went out of her way to make my son feel comfortable and was very kind. “We had an amazing time at the penguin enclosure and feeding the penguins was so special. We were so lucky to get to feed the Humboldt chicks and Minnie became a firm favourite. The experience was well organised and Catrin was very knowledgeable and friendly.”

“We had a really great time. Catrin was super friendly and informative, and let us take control of the feeding so we got a really good experience. We got to see a penguin chick, and went all over the enclosure to feed all the little groups of penguins who wouldn’t leave their nests. At the end, we got a certificate and a lovely cuddly penguin toy.”

“I accompanied a lady I support and from the start of the experience Caroline was fantastic. The lady I support is non-verbal and Caroline immediately started signing to her. She was enthusiastic throughout the experience and adapted it to suit our needs. Thank you so much for making it a memorable day. The rest of our day was equally as good around the park.”

“Would recommend Folly Farm as per my review on Tripadvisor. This was the first time we have visited but we shall return. Folly Farm is not just for children and families it is also for us oldies. The areas were very clean, tidy and well looked after. When you get to our age and it comes to presents for birthdays and Christmas, we don’t need anything so we now do something for us.”

He had a cuddly penguin to take home and the keeper put two green bands on its wings to match Darwin’s so he had his own mini Darwin to take home. Absolutely brilliant!
