How do I adopt a meerkat?
To adopt a meerkat just click buy now and choose if you’d like a bronze, silver or gold adoption. You can adopt a meerkat for yourself or for someone special and we’ll also send a special gift message along with your cuddly meerkat toy in your adoption pack.
Your meerkat adoption will last for 12 months and 10% of the profit will help raise money for our conservation partners. So you’ll feel great about giving this gift too.

Fun facts about the slender-tailed meerkat
- A group of meerkats is referred to as a mob, a gang or a clan.
- They can actually eat some venomous snakes and scorpions as they have a certain amount of immunity to venom.
- In the event of a predator attack they fight back as a group.
- They have a ‘nictitating’ membrane on their eyes. This is a clear eyelid that they can use to act as a dust shield for their eyes.
- Timon from ‘The Lion King’ is a meerkat. It is an historical Greek name meaning ‘honour and respect.’
