Ever wanted to see lions, rhinos, giraffes or penguins up close? At Folly Farm, you’ll find a world-class zoo with over 100 different species. All in the heart of the Pembrokeshire countryside.
When you visit us, you’ll see many animals you’re unlikely to find anywhere else. Some are in danger of becoming extinct, and we look after them in purpose-built, award-winning enclosures, designed to give them the best living conditions.
At Folly Farm zoo, you’ll see the only giraffes in Wales, and can look them straight in the eye from the Giraffe Heights walkway. And we’re one of only seven zoos in the UK that cares for the critically endangered Eastern black rhino. You can also see penguins, lions, zebras, camels, bongos, lemurs, meerkats, tapirs, Barbary macaques, squirrel monkeys, patas monkeys…the list goes on! You’ll see our aviaries, where all sorts of unusual birds live. You might be familiar with some of them – like parrots, owls, cranes, herons and pelicans. But what about a pochard or an inca tern? Or a Mount Omei babbler? Sound exotic? Wait till you see them! And at Tropical Trails, you can get a really close look at snakes and tortoises, crocodiles, sloths and fruit bats.
Where East meets West – home to red pandas, Asian wild dogs, pelicans, and reindeer.
Our tropical house, home to dwarf crocodiles, two-toed sloths, snakes, bats and much more.
Book an animal experience and you’ll literally be inches away from our sloths as you feed them their daily veg.
You can make a visit to our zoo extra special by booking one of our zoo animal experiences. You can go behind the scenes at some of most popular zoo animal enclosures to meet and feed these amazing animals. Plus you’ll be able to quiz our zoo keepers about the work they do with the animals under their care.
A visit to Folly Farm is already a fun-filled day out but these one-off special experiences are the icing on the cake for a special occasion or as an unusual and unique gift for an animal mad friend or family member. They’re the kind of experience you’ll never forget!
We’re passionate about preventing any animal from becoming extinct. So we take part in breeding programmes and raise money to help protect animals in the wild. We’re proud to be members of the British and Irish Association of Zoos and Aquariums (BIAZA) and the European Association of Zoos and Aquaria (EAZA). Our membership means we share knowledge with leading zoos across the UK and Europe, and we learn from them too.
We’ve over 750 animals (give or take a few!) and over 100 different types (or species) of animal at our zoo. From the weird to the wonderful. From the smallest to the tallest. An animal A-Z! Where you’ll learn loads about each zoo animal. Where they come from. How long they live. What they like to eat. And you’ll be able to amaze your friends with our fun and interesting animal facts.
School visits to our Welsh zoo are a great way to learn about all kinds of animals – and to have fun. So, whether it’s an educational school trip or an end of term treat you’re after, we’ve got you covered. We’ll even organise ice cream vouchers and set-price goody bags for you!
You can also stay on site in our zoo-themed lodges and safari tents on our five star holiday park right next door – you may even glimpse a rhino from your accommodation or hear our lions roar at night!
