The white cheeked turaco originally comes from Africa, mainly in and around the Sudan and Ethiopia regions.
You certainly can’t miss them with their green feathers, orange beak and eye ring and white patch in front of the eye and down their cheek…this is where their name comes from. Once in flight there’s even more colours to see – flashes of red on their wings. Beautiful.

What do they like to eat? All sorts of different types of fruit and plants.
Where do they like to nest? In trees. They build a rough looking nest out of twigs about seven to ten metres above ground.
